Investigate with your family where your money's going.

Before you and your family decide to donate money, make sure you know where you're giving your money, and how it's being used. There are many online resources that allow you to search by a program area and key words. Most of these also give you the assurance that any organization they list has been reviewed to meet a set of standards. Ask your kids where they would like to donate money and give them the chance to sit with you as you search through some great nonprofits either in your communities or in those working around the world.
