Send letters and learn a lot.

You may already have a spot for sweet notes to your kids, and therefore are aware of how much they enjoy receiving personal mail. Why not share that happiness with others? Encourage your child to write letters to a pen pal. Choose a neighbor, classmate, family friend, soldier or someone from a different part of the world. Let your child send letters, drawings, photos, or even maps (closely monitored by you, of course!). It helps kids practice their writing, make new friends, share their interests and learn about other places – and it brings the international divide a little closer.
