Go deeper than the book and learn about an author.

We all know that it’s important to read to our children, in an effort to increase literacy. Today, in honor of the 79th birthday of the beloved children's author Eric Carle, contribute to literacy growth in your community by getting to know an author. You may want to plan a play-date with children in your neighborhood and strictly read books by a particular author. (If you choose Eric Carle, we suggest starting with The Grouchy Ladybug.)
